You may be wondering if I have a new best friend, but in fact I’m loving a local boutique called ‘Anna’, which is part of a small chain of independent shops here in East Anglia. This luxury clothing company started in Bury St Edmunds where I live, with new branches soon opening in places like Holt, Burnham Market, Saffron Waldron and finally in London. It specialises in timeless, classic clothes.

The first time I went in was when I was looking for a chic, timeless outfit to wear for Ladies Day at Newmarket Races. Anna sells clothes at the higher end of the market, so this was the perfect place. I was delighted to find out that it stocked Rixo, a UK designer brand of the moment. I was attracted to this mismatch dress, make of silk and a perfect fit.

Sadly however I was unable to style it suitably for a day at the Races, but then saw another Rixo dress in their Holt branch, which I visited by chance. Luckily this dress was sent to Bury St Edmunds, where I exchanged it. As a small independent chain, refunds aren’t given, but clothes can be exchanged or store credit given.

Having fallen in love with Anna, for it’s timeless, classic clothes, I have revisited many times, often drawn to the Rixo range (isn’t this pink blouse and patterned skirt adorable?) but it does have its own range- Primrose Park- which has some gorgeous original designs. They also stock Anya Hindmarsh, Dianne Von Furstenberg, Isabel Marant, Maison Scotch, in fact over ninety brands/ designers.

Many brands are available in store and one I fell in love with was Second Female. This gorgeous dress with its pleated skirt and floaty sleeves sadly had been sold in my size, by the time I returned. However I instead settled for this beautiful blouse in the same fabric/style which I love.

Aiming to update my wardrobe for Autumn/Winter, I returned to look at their range. They do stock a lot of gorgeous cashmere and all of their clothes are exquisitely made of fabrics which will last for a long time. It is the perfect place to buy timeless, classic clothes as an investment.

As you can see from my photos, the clothes are well set out, at the moment grouped according to colour. The staff are helpful and will give you lots of advice and honest opinions .

On my final visit before writing this post I absolutely fell in love with this gorgeous oversized, double breasted coat by Essential Antwerp in off white. It is made of soft faux fur and is possibly the cosiest, most comfortable coat I have ever worn. Today I returned to buy it, and am waiting for it to be sent to my local branch.

So if you are looking for timeless, classic clothes, in a friendly, well presented environment, I would highly recommend you visit one of their stores. If this is not possible I suggest you visit their website which offers styling ideas, new designers to the brand and of course the option to buy online. For those who do live close by, their VIP service like Try Now, Buy Later, The Dressing Room( where you fill your basket and find them ready for you to try on in store) and their Rewards Scheme are all things which set Anna apart from other larger chain companies. I would highly recommend a visit if you like timeless, classic clothes, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Until next time,
