It’s no secret that the white trend is one of the top trends for Summer this year. For me this is perfect as it’s a timeless classic which never goes out of fashion. What could be more perfect than a crisp linen top or a white broiderie anglais dress ? These will always remain a summer favourite for me. But as ever, the fashion world has bought its own take on white this year, so I thought I’d share some of my favourites with you.
Embroidery, Cutwork and Frills
My favourite take on the white trend this year has been the use of embroidery, cut work and frills. Whilst these are already well used by Zimmerman, River Island has added some perfect pieces this year in a similar style. As you can imagine these are a more affordable version.
I just love this top with its amazing details.
The cutwork and embroidery is of such a good quality, and the frills add a feminine touch. I also love the delicate edging which gives the whole top a very elegant feel and makes it look more expensive than it actually is.
The Perfect Summer Dress
You can imagine my delight, when I found this beautiful dress in a similar style at River Island.
It has the same pretty details but styled as the perfect Summer dress. I love the cascading frills from front to back, the intricate cutwork details in the skirt and the same beautiful embroidery. Also I love that it is made of natural linen and its loose design will be perfect for the warmer temperatures. I can see myself wearing this dress on repeat this summer and for years to come.
The White Trend at Chicwish
My other favourite white dress this summer is this beautiful dress from Chicwish.
It has a fitted wrap style top, with a full tiered skirt at the bottom. I love the elasticated middle and the skirt is lined so it hangs perfectly. However the details in this dress are different in that they include crochet and tassels on the sleeves and hemline. White dresses can be quite ordinary without some design details and these features add a unique touch. I find the dress very comfortable to wear and cool too.
One thing I love about it is you can style it in so many different ways. I can imagine wearing it with flip-flops on holiday as a cover up, or teamed with natural accessories like this straw hat and a basket bag for a walk in the countryside.
Here I have teamed it with this beautiful hand embroidered clutch bag, which I featured in another post.
Above all it gives the dress a more elegant feel, especially if teamed with heels.
However there are plenty of other choices on the High Street showing similar features.
I hope you enjoyed my choices of this season’s take on the simple white dress.
Which was you favourite?
